THE FIRE THAT BRINGS US TOGETHER

We’re Dan and Eglantine. And we love a real Southern African braai. Lighting a fire is not just about cooking for us. It’s a ritual. Eglantine brings her French flair for food. I bring my South African braai background. So we mix a love for good food with the communal spirit of a traditional braai. It makes having friends over really special.

A Family Tradition

At our house, the braai is the heart of the home, and everyone gets involved. There is something incredibly grounding about cooking over an open flame, and it’s a tradition we are actively passing down. Even our 9-year-old daughter is a crucial part of the process—she is our official chief kindling collector, always on the hunt for the perfect dry sticks to get the wood fire roaring.

When it comes to the food itself, we believe in letting the fire do the talking.

My absolute favorite thing to cook is a thick T-bone steak. I serve it with fries made right on the coals in a cast iron pot. Our daughters loves those fries. I keep the seasoning simple. That lets the wood flavor stand out. I use a classic braai salt for the steak. It’s heavy sea salt mixed with mustard powder. Then I add a big shake of Steers seasoning salt to the fries. It’s a great mix of salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

Why We Started Let’s Braai

We believe that the best memories are made outside, surrounded by good friends, great food, and the smell of woodsmoke. Let’s Braai is the culmination of that lifelong passion.

We don’t just want to sell wood; we want to equip you to experience the ultimate authentic BBQ, helping you create those exact same unforgettable moments in your own backyard.

Why We Do What We Do

Ask any South African about a braai. You get different answers. Some talk about the food. They mention braaibroodjies, potjiekos, sosaties, and boerewors. But it’s really about connection. Friends and family gather around an open fire. We burn proper wood like Sekelbos, Rooikrans, Kameeldoring, or Mopane. It’s a full experience.

We started Let’s Braai to bring that taste of home to South Africans living in the UK. And we want to share it with beginners too. So maybe you just want a grilled sandwich with a Cape Town twist. Or maybe you are ready to cook some traditional sausage.

Let’s braai.
